We hosted the participants of “Civil society initiatives on elections – experience and know-how exchange” study trip. The experts and activist from Poland, Romania and Slovakia came to discuss the experiences of civic engagement connected to the 2022 elections.
The workshop contained a roundtable discussion with people who worked as volunteers in different roles in the elections (vote counting, mobilization, monitoring). After that we had small group discussions about four topics: 1) Volunteers in mobilisation and afterwards 2) Reaching the public, with a special focus on young people 3) Election fairness, why monitoring is important 4) Breaking down polarisation, community participation.
Thank you to the organisers (Stefan Batory Foundation, Education for Democracy Foundation, Civil Society Development Foundation, Ekopolis, Centre for Information Service, Co-operation and Development of NGOs) for taking the time to include experiences from outside the capital.
